Trail description
From the Ashcombe car park in Simonsbath, footpaths climb north out of the Barle valley, cross the B3223 and head west over open moorland above the infant River Exe to Exe Head, the source of the river. The Exe rises only 5.2 miles from the Bristol Channel coast but flows 60 miles south through Devon to reach the English Channel at the Exe Estuary.
