Trail description
From the parking at Surrender Bridge on Reeth High Moor, a bridleway track follows Old Gang Beck upstream to the ruins of the Old Gang smelt mill. Probably built in 1846, the mill smelted lead from nearby mines until it stopped working around 1900, and its tall square chimney still stands. The mill, its flue and the nearby mine workings form a scheduled monument.
