Trail description
Following the Pennine Way north from the Crowden car park in Longdendale, the path climbs above Crowden Great Brook and along the top of Laddow Rocks before crossing paved moorland to Black Hill. The summit trig point stands on Soldiers' Lump at 582 metres, the highest point in West Yorkshire, and restoration work has covered much of the bare peat that gave the hill its name.
