Måtinden

Trail description

Hike from the Bleik side up onto the plateau and along to the summit of Måtinden (408 m) on Andøya, one of the most visited mountains in Vesterålen. The steepest part is the early climb onto the plateau; after that the walking is easier. From the top you look down on sharp peaks rising from the sea, white sand beaches and the bird island Bleiksøya, home to puffins, sea eagles and other seabirds. Sea fog is common on Andøya in summer, so check the weather before setting out.
