Ropojana Valley to Ropojan Lake

Trail description

A gentle walk up the length of the Ropojana valley from Vusanje, between the sheer limestone walls of the Prokletije peaks. The track and path pass the turquoise spring of Oko Skakavice and flower meadows before reaching the seasonal Ropojan Lake at the head of the valley, right on the border with Albania. It is about 7 km one way with little climbing, so a relaxed half day there and back. The lake fills with snowmelt and can be low or dry later in the year. Vusanje is reached by road from Gusinje.
