Trail description

A 4.3 km climb of about 520 m in Valsavarenche past the former royal hunting house of Orvieille and the Djouan pastures to the Lago Djouan at 2,516 m, in Gran Paradiso National Park. The hunting house belonged to King Vittorio Emanuele II and was rebuilt for park rangers after an avalanche in 1982. Ibex, chamois and marmots are often seen, and the best months are June to November.
