Trail description

Stage 8 of the Alta Via 2 of the Aosta Valley, from Eaux-Rousses (1,658 m) in the Valsavarenche over the Col du Lauson (3,299 m), the highest point of the Alta Via 2, to the Rifugio Vittorio Sella (2,584 m) above Cogne, in the Gran Paradiso National Park. A very long climb: only cross in settled weather, start early and book the hut.
