Trail description
From Nether Wasdale the walk crosses the River Irt and climbs onto the ridge above the Wast Water screes to Whin Rigg (537 m), then follows the grassy ridge north east to Illgill Head (604 m), looking down on Wast Water and across to the Scafell range. It returns the same way, about 11 km with 730 m of climbing. Keep back from the edge of the screes.
