Trail description
This loop starts at the Monsal Head car park, above the famous view of the Headstone Viaduct, and drops to the River Wye. It follows the riverside path south through Monsal Dale, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, before climbing back along the eastern slope to Monsal Head. The five arched viaduct was attacked by John Ruskin when the railway was built in 1863 but has been Grade II listed since 1970.
