Trail description
From the small parking area at Ravensdale Cottages, the path heads north up Cressbrook Dale, a dry limestone gorge in the Derbyshire Dales National Nature Reserve. It passes ash woodland and flower rich grassland on its way to Peter's Stone, the limestone knoll at the head of the dale. The knoll was once called Gibbet Rock, and in 1815 the body of the murderer Anthony Lingard was hung in chains there.
