Trail description
From the main car park in Princetown, the trackbed of the old Yelverton to Princetown railway contours west around Swell Tor to King's Tor, and the walk returns past the huge spoil heaps of Foggintor Quarries. The railway opened in 1881 on the line of the Plymouth and Dartmoor Railway, an 1823 horse tramroad built to carry granite, and closed in 1956.
