Lonketind

Trail description

Lonketind (846 m) is one of the highest summits in southern Senja, with a 360 degree view over most of the island and towards Andørja. The hike starts at Finnelva just after the village of Å, where a gravel road leads to a small dam with parking, then a marked path climbs past Lonketuva and along the ridge to the top. Visit Senja calls it a demanding hike that needs some experience; cornices can remain on the summit early in the season.
