Dronningruta Hofsøy to Stangnes

Trail description

Dronningruta is an easy coastal walk on the Stonglandet peninsula in southern Senja, named after Queen Sonja who walked it. From the Midt-Troms Museum at Hofsøy it follows a tractor road and then a path along the shore over smooth rocks and beaches, through the Stongodden nature reserve with its wind-shaped coastal pines, to Ryvoll at Stangnes, about 8 km one way. Sheep and cattle graze here in summer, so keep dogs on a lead and close the gates.
