Trail description

A steep 2.7 km climb of about 550 m from Hooker Valley Road up the Sealy Tarns Track to Sealy Tarns, a small flat area with two tarns halfway up the northern slopes of the Sealy Range. The track climbs from about 850 m to 1,300 m by many switchbacks and over 2,200 timber steps. It was built in the 1980s and upgraded in 2012. Sealy Tarns marks the end of the maintained track, and a tramping route continues up to Mueller Hut.
