Mount Shigi from Shigisanshita

Trail description

Shigisan, 437 m, in Heguri, Nara, has two tops, Odake and Medake, with Chogosonshiji temple on its southern slope; a mountain castle once stood on the summit. Legend says the name comes from Prince Shotoku, who saw the god Bishamonten here. This route climbs from Shigisanshita station to the temple and on to the top of Odake.
