Trail description

Mount Nyoho, 2,483 m, is one of the three sacred Nikko peaks and has the sharpest outline of the Nikko range. This route climbs the 1,445 steps of the Tenku Kairo from the Kirifuri Plateau, crosses Mount Akanagi and follows the ridge to the summit, about five hours forty minutes up. On a clear day the view reaches from the Nikko peaks to Mount Tsukuba and Mount Fuji. Asian black bears live in these mountains, so carry a bear bell.
