Trail description

Mount Hakase, 1,482 m, rises above Yanaizu in Aizu, Fukushima, with old beech forest where golden eagles nest. This route climbs from the Dokai-naki ridge trailhead over Yashiro peak to the summit, about 2.5 hours up. Asian black bears live in these mountains, so carry a bear bell and keep food packed away.
