Trail description

A side path of the Kumano Kodo Nakahechi that follows a ridge for about 6 km to the Yunomine hot springs, used from the Edo period as a way around the river route below the Mikoshi pass. A collapse near the pass closed the old start, so walkers now climb to the ridge on a newer path near Funatama shrine. On the way are the site of the Kenjo teahouse, the Nabewari Jizo with its legend of the monk Ippen, and the Kakihira teahouse site.
