Trail description

Hachioji Castle was a Sengoku-period mountain castle of the Hojo clan on Fukasawayama, about 460 m high, and is now a National Historic Site. This route climbs from the castle ruins area at the foot of the mountain to the Honmaru site on the summit, past terraced enclosures. The castle covered about 3 km of ridges and valleys between the Kitaasakawa and Minamiasakawa rivers. It is named after the Hachioji Gongen deity enshrined on the mountain.
