Trail description
A 3.4 km climb from Gehlberg to the Schneekopf (978 m), after the Großer Beerberg the second-highest mountain of the Thuringian Forest. Its summit plateau, left bare by a storm in 1946, looks out over the Thuringian Forest and the Rhön, across the Thuringian Basin to the Ettersberg near Weimar and down to Oberhof; the Wilde Gera rises on its northern slope.
