A 2.1 km walk from the pilgrimage church of Maria Gern near Berchtesgaden up an easy but steep path to the Kneifelspitze (1,189 m), a wooded foothill of the Untersberg, where the Paulshütte inn and the summit cross look out over the Berchtesgaden valley to the Watzmann.
