Trail description

A 5.6 km climb of about 1,060 m from the Hospice de France above Luchon past the Boums du Port lakes to the Port de Venasque at 2,444 m on the Spanish border. Through the notch in the ridge the Maladeta massif and the Aneto, the highest summit of the Pyrenees, appear at once. The steep path zigzags up a rocky cirque; snow lies late in the season.
