Trail description

A 4.8 km climb from Highway 50 near Camp Sacramento into the Desolation Wilderness, on the Ralston Peak Trail to the 2,807 m summit, with about 820 m of gain. The top looks over Lake Aloha, the Crystal Range and Lake Tahoe. A free day permit for the Desolation Wilderness is filled out at the trailhead.
