Trail description

From the farm at Seathwaite the path crosses Stockley Bridge and climbs beside Grains Gill to Esk Hause, then heads west over rough, bouldery ground to the summit of Scafell Pike (978 m), the highest mountain in England. The walk is about 14 km out and back with 1,000 m of climbing. The upper section is stony and pathless in places, so it needs a map and good visibility.
