Trail description
From the Dunster Steep car park, a footpath and the old bridleway of Conduit Lane climb west out of the village onto the wooded ridge of Grabbist Hill above the Avill valley. The hill carries an Iron Age earthwork, and when it was still covered in heather it was described as the 'purple-headed mountain' of All Things Bright and Beautiful, a hymn written while Cecil Alexander was staying in Dunster.
