Lenzerheide Heidsee

Trail description

The loop starts and ends at the Heidsee Lido guidepost, following the yellow-marked footways right round the Heidsee, Igl Lai in Romansh, between Lenzerheide and Valbella. The lake has a larger upper basin and a smaller lower reservoir by the Lido, separated by a dam, and it is first recorded in 1484, when the Bishop of Chur had a fish pond made in its northern part. Between 1917 and 1919 its level was raised by 1.70 m for a hydroelectric scheme of the Zurich city electricity works. The loop is about 2.7 km and nearly level.
