Trail description

A 4.7 km loop around the Gelmersee, a reservoir at 1,850 m above the Grimsel road, from the top station of the Gelmerbahn funicular, with about 130 m of climbing. Much of the shore path is rated T3 (demanding mountain hiking), rocky with some exposed steps, so sure footing is needed. The Gelmerbahn climbs from Handegg on the Grimsel road. A short section of the shore path has a fixed rope.
