A 3.3 km climb from the top station of the Gelmerbahn funicular along the Gelmersee and up to the Gelmerhütte at 2,412 m, with about 590 m of climbing. The upper part is rated T3 (demanding mountain hiking) and steep. The Gelmerbahn climbs from Handegg on the Grimsel road.
