A 10.1 km loop from the Obersee above Näfels on the signed Ahornen-Rundweg (No. 823), which circles the basin around the lake past Näfels Berg, Girsboden and Vorder Geren, with about 620 m of climbing. The Obersee can be reached by road from Näfels, and the Berghotel Obersee stands by the lake.
