Chabenec z Jasenia

Trail description

A long climb of 14.8 km and about 1,660 m from Jasenie in the Bystrá valley over Žiar, Bosorky, Žiarska hoľa and Skalka to Chabenec (1,955 m) on the main ridge of the Low Tatras. Most of the second half runs over open grassy ridge. The ridge section from below Bosorky to Kotliská is open only in July, August and September; it is closed from 1 October to 30 June. Brown bears live in these mountains: make some noise in the forest and keep food packed away.
