Trail description

Walk from Hammeren in Maridalen up forest paths and Sagåsveien to Skjersjøen, a reservoir lake at about 258 m in Nordmarka. The dam was built in 1898–1900 for the Hammeren power station, and the lake collects water from Bjørnsjøen and other Nordmarka lakes. Its outflow, Skjærsjøelva, runs down through Maridalen to Maridalsvannet, Oslo's main drinking-water source. The water level is regulated, so keep off the ice in winter.
