Trail description
This 4.4 km loop from Benzenrade, on the edge of Heerlen, covers part of the signposted He1 route through the Imstenraderbos, an old oak and beech wood on a steep slope where the Geleenbeek rises. The wood holds Heerlen's highest point at 197 metres. Natuurmonumenten has managed it since 2010 and says its 18th-century beeches may be the tallest in the Netherlands.
