Trail description

Kogorosan, 1,162 m, rises in Nishiki, Iwakuni, in the Kanmuri mountains of the western Chugoku range, and is one of the Chugoku 100 famous mountains. This route climbs from the south to the summit along its straight north-south ridge. The mountain was once called Usagatake; its present name comes from a legend about a man named Kogoro and a fine horse. Steep slopes and deep valleys fall away to the east and west.
