Mount Kinpu from Odarumi Pass

Trail description

Kinpu, 2,599 m, is the main peak of the Okuchichibu range on the border of Yamanashi and Nagano and one of Japan's 100 famous mountains. This route starts at Odarumi Pass and follows the ridge over Asahidake and Tetsuyama to the summit. The top is crowned by Gojoiwa, a huge sacred rock, and the main shrine of Kanazakura Shrine stands there. The mountain divides the Chikuma river basin flowing to the Sea of Japan from the Fuji river flowing to the Pacific.
