Mount Kenashigasen from Tanami

Trail description

Kenashigasen, 1,218 m, stands on the border of Tottori and Okayama in the Chugoku mountains. This route takes the Okayama side trail from Tanami in Shinjo; the Okayama side is described as suitable for beginners, about 90 minutes to the top. The ridge toward Hakubasan is known for dogtooth violets and fresh beech leaves in late spring. Asian black bears live in these mountains: carry a bear bell and take care at dawn and dusk.
