Trail description
Daisen is the highest mountain in the Chugoku region, and its 1,709 m second peak Misen is treated as the summit because the ridge to the true top, Kengamine, is dangerous. This route climbs from the Ogamiyama Shrine area up the Gyojadani valley path and joins the Natsuyama trail on the ridge west of the valley for the final climb to Misen. Strong winds and heavy snow make the mountain serious outside summer. Asian black bears live in these mountains: carry a bear bell and take care at dawn and dusk.
