Trail description

Gagyuzan is the ridge of four peaks above Takahashi in Okayama, rising to about 487 m at Tenjin-no-maru. This walk climbs from the south on paths and steps along the ridge to the summit. On Komatsuyama stands Bitchu Matsuyama Castle, the highest surviving original castle keep in Japan and one of the three great mountain castles. The ridge is covered in well-preserved warm-temperate natural forest, and its name, reclining ox, comes from its shape seen from the south.
