Trail description

Aizu-Komagatake, 2,133 m, rises above Hinoemata village in Oze National Park and is one of Japan's 100 famous mountains. This route climbs from the Hinoemata side through forest and onto the broad summit ridge, where ponds dot the high moor. The flat ridge toward Chumondake is covered with marsh and alpine flowers, and it is one of the new 100 famous flower mountains. The name comes from a horse-shaped snow patch seen in late spring.
