A stage of the Sentiero Italia from Staffa in Macugnaga (1,330 m) up to the Rifugio Gaspare Oberto (2,796 m) near the Passo di Monte Moro. Nearly 1,500 m of steep ascent in under 7 km, ending at high altitude: start early and turn back if storms build. Book the huts ahead in summer.
