Trail description
A 1.9 km climb of about 190 m from the Sacro Monte di Varallo in the Valsesia up the wooded hill above it, reaching about 770 m. It is the oldest and artistically most important of the Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy, with a basilica and 44 frescoed chapels holding about 800 life-size statues. Since 2003 it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Sacri Monti.
