Trail description

A 4.6 km climb of about 870 m from Pian della Mussa past the Rifugio Città di Ciriè and across the Stura di Ala to the Rifugio Gastaldi at 2,659 m. The refuge stands on a glacial shelf of moraines and small lakes at the head of Val d'Ala and is the base for the Uia di Ciamarella and Uia di Bessanese. First built in 1880, it is the oldest refuge in the Lanzo valleys.
