Alta Via 1 della Valle d'Aosta: da Valtournenche al Rifugio Barmasse

Trail description

Stage 9 of the Alta Via 1 of the Aosta Valley, a short climb from Valtournenche (1,520 m) to the Rifugio Barmasse (2,165 m). About 650 m of ascent in 4.5 km; it also works as a half-day walk from the village. Near the village the path passes the foot of the Gorbeillon via ferrata, which it does not use. Book the huts ahead in summer.
