Trail description
An 8.4 km loop on the S 1 route from Silberborn in the Hochsolling, the highest part of the Solling, to the Hochsollingturm and the Mecklenbruch. The 33 m wooden tower, finished in 1992, has 180 steps up to a platform with views north to the Wesergebirge, west to the Eggegebirge and the Teutoburger Wald with the Hermannsdenkmal, and north-west to the Köterberg. The Mecklenbruch is a raised bog where peat was cut for a glassworks for about 40 years from 1799; it was rewetted by 2010 and can be explored on wooden walkways with a nature trail.
