Trail description

A 1.6 km loop on the marked path around the Kleiner Arbersee, one of the three ice-age cirque lakes of the Bavarian Forest, in a 307 ha nature reserve at the foot of the Arber. When the lake was dammed for timber rafting after 1885, mats of bog broke loose from the shore and long drifted as floating islands; stepping onto them is forbidden and dangerous. The Seehäusl inn stands on the west shore.
