Trail description

The Harzer Grenzweg follows the former inner German border across the Harz, from the border tower near Rhoden past Abbenrode and Stapelburg, by the Eckertalsperre over the Brocken (1141 m), then south by Sorge, Hohegeiß and Walkenried to the border museum at Tettenborn. Four days, with nights in Stapelburg, Schierke (about 2 km off the line below the Brocken) and Hohegeiß. Night frost is possible on the high ground from late August.
