Trail description

A 5.7 km walk with about 420 m of climbing from Le Pied du Col below the Col du Lautaret up the valley of the Romanche to the Refuge de l'Alpe de Villar-d'Arène at about 2,080 m. The broad path runs past the source of the Romanche, with the glaciers of the Écrins massif above. The hut is in the Écrins National Park and is staffed in summer.
