Trail description

A 3.6 km hike from the end of Skater's Cabin Road near Juneau on the West Glacier Trail, mostly below the glacier trimline through willow, cottonwood and alder, to the top of a rock outcrop overlooking Mendenhall Glacier. The last section can be hard to follow and is marked by cairns. Hiking off the trail leads to 10 to 12 rescues a year, so stay on it.
