Trail description
A 5.6 km climb in the Green Mountain National Forest from Kelley Stand Road on the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail, which share the route here, to the summit of Stratton Mountain (3,940 ft / 1,201 m), the highest point of Windham County. Its 1934 fire tower is generally open for climbing, and it was on Stratton that James P. Taylor conceived the Long Trail and Benton MacKaye the Appalachian Trail.
