Trail description
A 0.8 km walk in Big Bend National Park from the end of the Burro Mesa Spur Road off the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive, up a gravel drainage into a narrow box canyon where water has carved a deep channel into Burro Mesa, named for the herds of wild burros that once roamed here. The trail ends at the base of a 100-foot (30 m) pour-off; usually dry, its smooth, polished rock shows the force of the floods that rush through the canyon during summer rains.
