Trail description

A 4.4 km climb on the Crabtree Falls Trail (Forest Trail 526) in the George Washington National Forest, from the foot of Crabtree Falls in Nelson County up beside the cascades. The falls are a series of five major cascades, the tallest dropping about 400 feet (120 m), spread over about 2,500 feet (760 m) between Crabtree Creek and the Tye River. Keep to the trail: about 30 people have died since 1982 after slipping or leaving it to get closer to the falls.
